Using Orbix
The panel
Every part of Orbix's panel, top to bottom.
The field
Type what you want and press Return. Next to it: + attaches files or folders, the microphone dictates, and the arrow sends (or stops a running answer).
The app chip
The chip under the field shows the app you're in and its window or document — for example Code · MemoryStore.swift. Orbix tells the AI this (as text, no screenshot), so “this file” and “this page” just work. The chip follows you as you switch apps. Click its × to stop sharing it.
Web, Computer and Files
| Switch | When on |
|---|---|
| Web | Orbix can search and read the web. |
| Computer | Orbix can use its Mac tools: files, apps, settings, memory, automations. |
| Files | Orbix can read what's inside your files. |
Your choices are remembered.
Deep and Fast
Deep uses the stronger model and thinks more; Fast answers quicker. With Claude, that's Opus or Sonnet.
Answers and cards
Results arrive as cards: file lists with trash buttons, memories with Open, timelines, calendars, confirm cards and live plans. A green check card means something was done, often with Undo.
The footer
From left: which AI is answering (click to switch), ⚡ Automations, 🕘 History, taller panel, new chat, Settings and close. The panel stays open until you close it, press Esc or press ⌥ Space again.
Suggestions
When the panel is empty, Orbix suggests things for the app you're in — explain an error in Xcode, summarize unread mail in Mail, summarize the page in a browser — plus automations based on your habits. Press ⌘ 1–3 to run one.
