Food

A photo of a meal in; every food, its portion and its nutrients out.

Logging a meal

Drop a photo of what you're eating on the health dashboard, click Add meal, or attach it in the panel. Your AI looks at it, names each food, estimates its portion in grams and its calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar and salt, and logs it. A card shows the meal and where the day stands.

No photo? Describe it: “I had two eggs and toast.” Got a portion wrong? Say so, and Orbix fixes it.

“Log this meal”“I had a chicken shawarma plate for lunch”“How much protein have I had today?”“What did I eat this week?”

Goals

Until you set your own, Orbix uses the everyday 2,000 kcal reference and protein from your weight (from Apple Health or a scale): 1.6 g a kilo if you train most weeks, 1.2 g otherwise. Change them any time:

“Set my goals to 2,300 calories and 140 g of protein”

With the rest of your health

The dashboard's Food section shows today against your goals, the last seven days, and today's meals with their photos. Orbix reads meals with what it knows: with LDL above range it watches saturated fat; after a low-recovery night, protein and carbs to rebuild. The evening card shows the day's food, and the morning brief yesterday's.

Which AI sees the photo

The photo goes to the AI you chose — Claude Code, Codex, an API key or a local vision model in Ollama — the only thing that leaves your Mac. Meals and their photos are kept on your Mac and never shared with your other AI apps. The numbers are estimates from a photo, not lab values.
