Doing things
Safety & undo
What asks first, what can be undone, and what Orbix never touches.
Three kinds of actions
| Kind | Examples | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Reading | Searching files or memory, the calendar, settings status | Runs instantly. |
| Changes | Trash, organize, rename, add events, quit apps | A confirm card shows exactly what will happen — on Autopilot, it just happens, with Undo. |
| Commands | Terminal commands, Shortcuts | Always ask, showing the exact command — even in automations allowed to act on their own. |
Autopilot
Choose Autopilot: do it, then tell me in Settings → Orbix acts on its own (or Do it, then tell me when you set Orbix up), and the changes you ask for run without the confirm step: files go to the Trash, moves and renames happen, events are added. Each one stays in the answer marked Autopilot, with its Undo, and new automations act the same way.
Terminal commands still ask, and so do forgetting memories and starting meeting notes.
Undo
Trash moves, organizing, renaming, converted images, zips and new files are all recorded. Use Undo on a card, ⌘ Z, ask “undo that”, or Undo all when one answer made several changes. Undo survives a restart.
Never touched
Orbix never deletes permanently, never moves your home folder, its standard folders (Desktop, Documents, Downloads…), system folders, or your Library (apart from caches), and never sends email or messages for you.
