Introduction

What Orbix is, how it works, and what you can do with it.

What Orbix is

Orbix is an AI agent that lives in your Mac's menu bar. Press ⌥ Space anywhere, ask in your own words, and Orbix does it: finds and cleans up files, answers from your memory, changes settings, drafts emails, runs automations, and more.

Three things make it different from a chat window:

  • It remembers. Orbix keeps a private timeline of your work on your Mac — apps, windows, documents, pages and the text on your screen — so you can ask “where did I see…” or “what was I doing?”.
  • It acts. More than 100 native actions across your files, apps, settings, calendar, mail, health, money and the web. Answers come back as cards you can act on, not walls of text.
  • It's safe. Reading is instant; anything that changes something asks first, and almost everything can be undone.

How it works

Orbix doesn't bring its own AI. It uses one you already have — your own Claude Code or Codex CLI (signed in with your Claude or ChatGPT plan), an API key, or a local model through Ollama. Orbix gives that AI its tools and its memory of your Mac, and shows the results in the panel.

Your memory is stored on your Mac. When you ask something, only what's needed for that answer — your question, what's in front of you, and any memories it looks up — goes to the AI you chose.

Next steps
