Memory

Memory

What Orbix remembers, and how to ask it.

What it records

WhatDetails
ActivityEach app and window you use, its document or web address, and how long — with idle time left out.
Screen textEvery few seconds while the screen changes, Orbix reads the text in the front window with Apple's on-device Vision. Only the text is kept, never an image, and only what changed.
ClipboardText you copy. Copies marked secret by password managers are skipped.
FilesNew files in Downloads, Desktop and Documents, and where downloads came from.

On battery, screen text is read less often. Nothing is read while you're away, the screen is locked, or memory is paused.

Asking

“Where did I see the tracking number?”“What was I doing in the last hour?”“What did I work on Tuesday afternoon?”“Reopen what I had open yesterday morning”

Results show as memory cards with the app, time and the matching text; Open reopens the document, page or app. Orbix also knows your last 20 minutes automatically, so “this” and “what I was just doing” work without explaining.

Projects, people, files and time

  • Projects are found automatically from git repos, project folders, websites and editor windows.
  • People combines your contacts, meetings, mail and memories about someone.
  • File history tells you where a file came from and when you used it.
  • Time reports show where your day or week went, by app or by project.
“What are my projects this week?”“What's going on with Ali?”“Where did invoice.pdf come from?”“How did my time go this week, by project?”

“Remember that…”

Tell Orbix facts and preferences to keep for good — they're added to every conversation. See and delete them in Settings → Orbix remembers, or ask “what do you remember?”.

“Remember that my work folder is ~/Desktop/Raya”“Forget what I said about my work folder”
