Installation
Requirements, installing the app, and connecting an AI.
Requirements
- A Mac with macOS 26 or later.
- One AI to answer: Claude Code, Codex CLI, an Anthropic / OpenAI / Gemini API key, or Ollama. See Engines.
Install the app
- Download Orbix and unzip it.
- Drag Orbix into your Applications folder.
- Open it. If macOS says it can't check the app, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down and click Open Anyway.
Orbix appears as a sparkle in the menu bar and opens its panel. It also turns on Open at login the first time, which you can change in Settings.
Connect an AI
The quickest start is Claude Code: install it from claude.com/claude-code, run claude once in Terminal and sign in. Orbix finds it automatically. For the other options, open Settings → Engines.
Updating and uninstalling
To update, quit Orbix and replace the app in Applications with the new one; your memory, history and settings are kept. To uninstall, quit Orbix, move it to the Trash, and delete ~/Library/Application Support/Orbix if you also want to remove your memory.
